Submap — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Submap mobile application ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use it. Submap is a personal subscription tracker. The app does not require an account, and your subscription data stays on your device.

1. Data We Collect

Data you enter into the app

Subscription details you enter (name, price, billing cycle, category, notes, etc.), your settings (language, theme, default currency), and any attachments you add are stored only on your device using local SQLite and key-value storage. This data is never transmitted to us or any server we operate, because we do not operate a server.

Data collected automatically by third parties

Submap integrates the following third-party services, which may collect data independently of us:

• Google AdMob — shows ads inside the app. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (Ad ID), approximate location inferred from IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data, for the purposes of serving and measuring ads. See Google Ads Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
• open.er-api.com (ExchangeRate-API public endpoint) — used to fetch up-to-date currency exchange rates when you change default currency or open the stats screen. Only your IP address is visible to this service; no user-entered data is sent.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account credentials (there are no user accounts).
• We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
• We do not track your location via GPS.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your subscription data to any third party.

3. Permissions

• INTERNET — required to load ads and fetch currency exchange rates.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — required to show local reminders before a subscription renews. Reminders are scheduled on your device; no push server is used.
• AD_ID — required by Google AdMob to serve personalized ads. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

4. Advertising

The app is ad-supported. Ads are delivered by Google AdMob. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, we present a Google-provided consent form the first time you open the app, letting you choose between personalized and non-personalized ads. You can change this choice at any time from the Settings screen.

5. Children's Privacy

Submap is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

Because all your subscription data is stored locally on your device:

• To access your data, open the app — everything is there.
• To export your data, use Settings → Export in the app.
• To delete all your data, uninstall the app or use Settings → Reset in the app.

For data processed by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's data deletion options.

7. Data Retention

Data you enter in the app is retained locally until you delete it or uninstall the app. We do not retain any copy because we do not receive it.

8. Security

Your data does not leave your device, so it is protected by your device's operating system security. We recommend keeping your device locked with a passcode, PIN, or biometric authentication.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
